Kirill Protopopov  Biography  Works 

Kirill Protopopov was born in 1959 in Moscow. Graduated from the Moscow secondary art school named after Surikov in 1977 and Moscow Art Industrial High School (former Stroganovskaya School) in 1982, faculty of design. He entered the Union of Artists in 1984. Member of Moscow medalist club. Design, as he said, has helped him to pass from flat surfaces to spatial sculpture. Since 1988 he has been using the mixed technics and various materials: ceramics, wood, metal and acryl. Worked on sculpture of Old and New Testament which for the first time was shown in Mars Gallery in 1993. Created the following collections for the last years: “People and lions” 1993-1995, “Paradise birds” 1996, “Sky Objects” 1997-1998, “Going through Time” 1999-2000, “The Rhine Angels” 2001-2002, each of which represents sculptures from bronze, decorated by semiprecious stones. Kirill Protopopov is the participant of the Moscow and international exhibitions. His works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Historical Museum, in Nikolay Roerich's museum in New York, and in private collections in Russia, Germany, France, the Great Britain, New Zealand and the USA.
